The top lock gate is just visible, right centre. The still waters of the canal at Brimington, looking back towards Staveley, give no indication of the headwind I've had all the way from there.

Grassmoor Country Park

Site of the former Grassmoor Colliery and start of the Five Pits Trail.

The last few days has been a bit hectic, but here we are back in Havelock North and back to my usual exercise regime of cycle 3.4 kilometres from home to the car park, then walk various trails. here looking out towards Mount Erin with Mount Kahuranaki just visible over the ridge to the left.
