The winding wheel is a reminder of the coal which was formerly extracted on this site and used to produce dirty power. The windmill in the background is part of a new green generation site.
The last few days has been a bit hectic, but here we are back in Havelock North and back to my usual exercise regime of cycle 3.4 kilometres from home to the car park, then walk various trails. here looking out towards Mount Erin with Mount Kahuranaki just visible over the ridge to the left.
